Kia Orana & welcome to Apii Te Uki Ou…a great place to learn, laugh and be a kid throughout this 2015 school year.
Apii Te Uki Ou is a Ministry of Education and privately funded school located on the main island of Rarotonga. It is located in the village of Ngatangiia. We are an independent school, offering quality pre-school and primary education, run along similar lines to the New Zealand education system but with a distinctive Cook Islands flavour.
It was established in 1993 by a group of dedicated parents who believed that more could be achieved in education than was available at the time and who shared a vision to create a school environment where every child had the opportunity to develop and grow to the very best of their ability; academically, socially and physically.
Today Apii Te Uki Ou is a thriving school with over 180 students. Approximately 50% of our students are Cook Islanders, 20 % are New Zealanders, with the remaining 30% an exciting international mix that includes; Australian, Irish, French, Tongan, Filipino, Samoan, Japanese, NZ Maori, English, Spanish, South African, Chinese, American & Russian.
We are truly an international school that is proud of who we are and what we offer. Please take time to explore our website (please note – this is under construction on certain pages), visit us on Facebook and feel free to contact us at any time.
Kia Manuia (Best wishes or good luck)
